What Rezifi's free ATS check shows you

A tour of the free check, from the upload to the last fix: the score, the grade, the machine's read and what happens next.

Rezifi's free ATS check scores your resume out of 100 with a letter grade, shows you what an applicant tracking system reads from it and lists every fix, each on the line it belongs to. You need no account and no card: drop in a Word file or a PDF, or pick a Google Doc from your Drive.

This is a tour of Rezifi's free ATS checker as you see it: what you upload, what each part of the result means, what you can do with it and what happens to your resume afterwards.

What do you upload?

Your resume as it is. The check takes a Word file or a PDF, and it takes a Google Doc straight from your Drive, so a resume written in Google Docs needs no export first. Google's picker gives Rezifi access only to the file you choose.

There is nothing to fill in before the check. No account, no email, no card. Press Check my resume and the result opens on its own page.

What does the result show?

Four things, in the order you need them:

  1. Your score and grade. One score out of 100 for how an ATS and a recruiter read your resume, with a letter grade beside it.
  2. The score you would reach. Before you change a word, the check shows the score your resume reaches once every fix is done, so you know what the work is worth.
  3. What a machine reads. Your resume as an applicant tracking system reads it, field by field. Any contact detail, heading or date a parser cannot place is marked on its line.
  4. Every fix. Each problem named on the line it belongs to, with what is wrong and why.

How the score and the grade work

The score has two parts, Writing and Format. Writing is how well your bullets read to a recruiter. Format is whether a machine can find and place everything a recruiter will search for. The grade follows the score: A from 90, B from 80, C from 70, D from 60, and F below 60.

It is the same number everywhere in Rezifi. Your score in the free check is the score your resume carries in the editor, so nothing resets when you start fixing.

What lowers the Format part

  • A missing section. No contact section, or no experience section a machine can find.
  • Contact details it cannot find. An email, a phone number or a LinkedIn URL that a parser does not pick up, such as one placed in an image instead of written as text.
  • An incomplete role. A job with no dates, no title or no employer.
  • An incomplete education entry. No school, or no dates.
  • Template text left in. A placeholder like “[Company Name]” or Lorem ipsum that survived from the template you started with.

Why does what a machine reads matter?

An applicant tracking system parses your resume into fields: contact details, job titles, employers, dates, education and skills. Recruiters then search those fields. If the parser cannot place a field, that part of your experience is missing from the search, however good it looks on the page.

That is why Rezifi shows you the read itself, not only a number. You see exactly which line came through and which did not. If your design costs you nothing, the read shows it, and you keep your design. If a two-column layout or a text box hides your phone number, the read shows that too, on the line. The full story of layouts is in two-column resumes and ATS.

What can you do with the result?

Reading the result is free. When you want the fixes made for you, sign up free, no card needed, and apply them in one click. Keep the check and it becomes your Rezifi resume, with the same score.

Your kept resume opens in ATS view, where every fix sits under its own line as a numbered card: Apply or Skip each one, or apply every waiting rewrite at once, and one undo puts them all back. Each fix scores the resume again, so you watch the number climb. Fixing ATS issues line by line walks through it.

Your design stays yours through all of it. Rezifi edits your own Word file or Google Doc as it is, keeping two columns, tables, text boxes, a photo and your fonts. No resume yet? Build one from Rezifi's ATS-friendly templates, from your notes, your LinkedIn profile or a PDF.

How do you raise the score for one job?

The check scores how well your resume reads. How well you match a particular job depends on that job's keywords, and that is the tailor's work. Rezifi's AI resume tailor rewrites your bullets, summary and skills in each job's own keywords, never invents an employer, role, date or credential, and shows every change on its line to keep or dismiss. It works on a copy, so your original is untouched.

Then Rezifi's auto-apply copilot fills the whole application on any job site, attaching the tailored copy, until it is ready to send.

What happens to your resume?

  • An unkept check is deleted within 24 hours. You can delete it sooner from its result page.
  • A kept resume is yours to delete from your account at any time.
  • It is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • It is never used to train AI. AI providers are not allowed to train on your resume.
